Which is better cast iron weight plates or bumper plates?

Cast iron weight plates are much thinner than bumper plates, which means you can load up way more weight when doing your weightlifting and brench press. But if your training involves explosive movements like cleans or snatches or overhead drops, bumper plates are your best mate. Because they’re made of high-density rubber, they’re designed to be dropped from overhead without smashing your floor

Will these cast iron plate weights damage my floor?

The cast iron plates may damage flooring if dropped, so buy a heavy duty rubber mats or gym flooring to use during your lifts. It gives you that rock-solid base to stay locked-in during your lifts without any stress. But if your purpose is overhead drops, choose Olympic bumper plates instead.
