I recently ordered a barbell and 60kg weight set from Northern and paid extra for express delivery (1–2 days). The weights arrived within the promised timeframe, but unfortunately the barbell did not.
Despite placing my order on 26th April, the barbell didn’t arrive until 19th May — almost four weeks later. This was despite a resend being arranged and around a dozen emails exchanged during that time. While Northern were quick to reply to emails, the process took far too long and the responses lacked much compassion or accountability.
To make matters worse, the barbell also arrived without any weight collars, meaning I had to purchase these separately.
Northern only refunded the additional express delivery charge rather than the full delivery fee, which was disappointing given the circumstances.
That said, their communication was consistently prompt, which is the reason I’ve given two stars instead of one.
