Northern Dumbbell A-Frame Storage Holder Rack Black

Hi my package arrived in perfect condition except for on of the 20kg Dumbbell it looked like it had been used before and returned from a previous customer, other than that everything was correct.

This dumbbell rack is sturdy enough. Keeps my hex weights looking a lot neater than lined up on the floor or in an pile. Feels sturdy enough, slight wobble when racking weights but I expect it to last

Put it all together very sturdy holds my 3 sets of weights well very pleased .

It’s a great piece of equipment, really sturdy, keeping all the weights tidy and easy to access.

When I bought this, I read the text "may not fit multiple large hex dumbbells" and I think, reasonably, assumed that they were talking about the huge weights that some people lift. As the heaviest weight I have currently is 17.5kg I assumed that would be fine.

It isn't.

It won't hold my set of 7.5kg, 10kg, 12.5kg, 15kg and 17.5kg weights.

If I try to load them on, the entire set of weights sits on top of the 17.5kg weight with no way of getting weights out other than removing them all (see photo).

As far as I am concerned, this is a faulty product that is not fit for purpose. If they do want to sell it, it should be very clear that it will basically only hold the first 5 weights in their range and nothing larger. Unfortunately, despite it being, in my opinion, a fault in the design, I have to pay return postage to send it back which isn't cheap, so I'm likely stuck with a useless stand.

I had been planning to continue kitting out my gym with Northern, but I think I'll go somewhere where the products are designed better.

Stand is excellent, it’s holding 25kg and down which is great. Northern are by far my favourite gym equipment company now.

Solid piece of gym storage equipment does exactly what its meant to. Assembly straight forward and simple. Only negative would be the tools supplied to assemble this item would be poor which would have made assembly quite tedious if it wasn't for tools I already had.

My first order with Northern start off my new home gym. Very impressed with quality and value.

Feels a bit flimsy and the weight space near the top is quite tight making it hard to get weights on and off

Not the best of stands. Bit flimsy and hard getting your weights in snd out

Good quality stand to put my newly purchased hex weights. The 3kg, 6kg and 9kg fitted perfectly. Delivered really quickly, picked standard delivery and the stand was dispatched immediately and delivered the following day, with the weights arriving within a couple of days.

The item was good quality for its price. My only issue was with delivery. I arranged for the item to be delivered to local pick up point as I’m out at work most days. Item was delivered and I received photo of proof only to go and pick item up to be told that Ervi came back not long after delivery to take item away because it wouldn’t scan . I wasn’t told ,so a wasted trip. Contacted Northern Gym and give them credit they replied very quickly and rearranged delivery with DHL to my work address . I stated that delivery had to be before 5pm as work would be closed. On the day of delivery received tracking info saying delivery between 16.58 and 17.58 . Turned up at 17.30 ish . Had to wait around until it was delivered.So delivery was a week later than promised and no offer of postage refund or reduction . This hopefully will not put me off using Northern Gym Equipment again , please reconsider using Ervi as they have a chequered reputation as proven with this delivery problem.

This rack was great value and has been used to store a few extra dumbbells that wouldn't fit on my larger horizontal rack. Happily takes hex dumbbells. I have stores 2 x 17.5kg, 2 x 12.5kg and 2 x 7.5 kg. Perfect 👌

This product is limited to weights less than 20kgs. As there is not enough space to hold this size and above.

Great product, great price and fantastic customer service

The hooks that store the dumbbells are not far apart enough so makes it awkward to get the dumbbells off the rack, and not very sturdy frame, looks neat though

Good quality item, but a bit wobbly due to too thin metal. I'm placing 10, 7.5, 5, 3 and 1 Kg dumbbells from bottom to top. With higher weights it may be worse.

Firstly, for the price point you can’t go wrong. The quality is really good, and I was a fan of the ‘Northern’ branding on the lower support arm - a small touch that changes a generic looking stand, into something a little more cool.

I saw a review on this stand, where the customer wasn’t happy about the amount of dumbbells which can be stored (albeit a disclaimer in the description. However, I have stored the following 17.5kg, 15kg, 12.5kg, 7.5kg and 5kg hex dumbbells on the rack with no issue. These are York standard dumbbells, and I can only suggest the other customer may have some obscure branded dumbbells with strange sizing. Anyway… mine fit perfect.

The only reason I haven’t rated 5 stars, is the room to get your hand in when seating the dumbbells. This isn’t just on the large ones which could be expected, but even on the smaller 7.5/5kg dumbbells - I caught my knuckles a few times just while I was organising them. The work around is just hold the dumbbell by each end and place them in that way, no issues there.

Overall, great price, great product - well chuffed.

Got 2, 3, 4, 6, 8kg set on this stand, it looks great and is sturdy. I'm really pleased with it

It was such a good price, we expected something a bit wobbly but it’s really good quality and sturdy for all our weights to be neatly stacked in a small space.
